HEMCO Corporation recognizes the hazards caused by tobacco use and exposure to second hand smoke. Our policy to provide a tobacco-free environment for all employees and visitors was established to keep a safe and healthy workplace environment. This policy covers the smoking of any tobacco product and the use of oral tobacco products, “spit” tobacco and e-cigarettes and it applies to both employees and non-employee visitors of HEMCO Corporation.

Job Description:

The Chop Gun Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a specialized piece of equipment called a "chop gun" during fiberglass lamination projects. The chop gun is a powerful tool for applying fiberglass and resin to a mold.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate the chop gun safely and efficiently to complete lamination tasks as required
  • Inspect the chop gun before and after use to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the chop gun, such as replacing worn parts or cleaning the equipment
  • Communicate with the production manager to coordinate the use of the chop gun and ensure the timely completion of tasks
  • Comply with all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating the chop gun
  • Maintain accurate records of the chop gun's usage and any issues or repairs

Qualifications
and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating power tools, preferably a chop gun or similar equipment
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a team environment
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

The Chop Gunner Operator typically works in a chop booth, which can involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, and noise. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of materials and equipment and work in confined spaces.
